Work-life balance - comment in a nutshell
The directive aims to make it easier for employees who are parents or carers to reconcile work and family life.
Government bill amending the Labor Code and certain other acts concerning the implementation into the Polish legal order of the provisions of two Directives of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) - 2019/1152 of 20 June 2019 on transparent and predictable working conditions in the European Union and 2019/1158 of 20 June 2019 on work-life balance for parents and carers and repealing Council Directive 2010/18/EU in January 2023, was submitted to the Sejm. On February 9, 2023, the act was submitted to the President and the Speaker of the Senate. The Sejm passed an amendment to the Labor Code (Act of 9 March 2023 amending the Labor Code and certain other acts). On March 13, 2023, the act was submitted to the President for signature. The act amending the Labor Code entered into force on April 26, 2023 (information valid as of July 9, 2023)
